Elon Musk recently decided to continue supporting Starlink’s operation in Ukraine for free.
Elon Musk’s Starlink is a satellite network Starlink has been a core element of keeping Ukraine connected throughout this year.
Until today, more than 25 thousand terminals have been deployed around the country, with each one worth over 25 thousand dollars.
Ukraine, however, received these terminals for free, and Musk has been paying for operation and maintenance of them out of his own pocket.
The company claimed to be unable to further support old or provide new terminals, with the cost of SpaceX’s benevolence expected to exceed 100 million dollars by the end of the year.
In September, however, SpaceX sent a letter to the Pentagon, asking to fund Ukraine’s use of Starlink.
The Pentagon denied SpaceX’s motion and Elon Musk once again commented on Twitter, claiming he will continue supporting Starlink in Ukraine by himself.
“SpaceX is losing approximately 20 million dollars amonth due to unpaid service & costs related to enhanced security measures for cyberwar defence, but we’ll keep doing it,”
